    Personality: Almost always calm and amiable and for the most part tactful in conversation. However a kind and serene exterior belies a person who somewhat lacks empathy. She doesn't grow attached to people easily and finds herself motivated solely by personal interests. Sees everything through a somewhat clinical gaze. Is a tad ashamed of herself for not being able to feel as passionately as others. But this leads her to greatly admire people who can. She's awed by knights who would lay down their lives for the sake of their country and loved ones, or people who would give everything they have to achieve a lofty dream. She is intensely fascinated by both magic and the legend of Ellynne and the alleged might of the dragon zephyr. She's quite studious and analytic which has helped her learn some magic through what texts she could find in libraries or scavenge from defeated foes belongings. Not a particularly driven person herself and knows when to quit or when she's lost. Not a defeatist though as she knows each defeat or wall she faces is something she will have to train herself harder to beat. A little pessimistic though and refrains from combat if she thinks her odds of winning are too low.

    History: Born to a mercenary family in Malnoir, she came from a solemn but close knit family with both parents and two brothers (both older) alive. They lived their lives wandering about from city to city supporting themselves from the money they made as bodyguards or assassins. Growing up in such a condition may have been what left her emotionally stunted, as when one lives in a kill or be killed world, you learn to view the people you cut down as jobs rather than people with dreams hopes and family. Otherwise you may come out even worse from a mental health standpoint. In a life of repeated bloodshed since she was old enough to wield a sword Ater found her solace in stories. In books where everyone lived happily ever after. In legends of Ellynne who promised the children of Lumina a life of peace. And finally in tales of wizardry and mage craft where the elements were controlled at the tips of ones finger, and the immense power magic brought forth. The idea of being able to kill without having to feel a weapon, an extension of ones body, cleave through flesh and muscle appealed greatly to Ater. She will also admit, rather timidly, that she thinks the flashy attacks of magic are cool to look at.

Her family was not without honor and refused to cut down defenseless people or participate in needless slaughter and aimed to reduce harm to civilians as much as possible, but with resources growing scarce they must be less picky with their jobs and become more ruthless. And with Malnoir growing increasingly militaristic, rumors of the army beginning to draft able soldiers fanned the flames of anxiety within Aters heart. Should she be drafted or continue mercenary work there was no escape from a life of absolute routine and more bloodshed than she would find ideal. And no time to practice her magic and pursue her interest in the newly awakened legend of Ellynne. After stating her worries to her parents and siblings, they all wearily give her their blessing and well wishes for her journey and she sets off. After weeks of travel and dodging authorities she finds herself taking her first steps into the kingdom of Lumina.

After practicing with magic for years she finds herself best able to control salamander magic and sylph. Understand the fundamentals of gnome but is still shaky with it. Cannot use undine magic to save her life despite studying it as intensively as the other forms of magic. Completely incompatible with dryad magic. Seeing as she still hasn't masttered use of the fours basic elements she is nowhere near ready to begin studying arcane magic.

Starting skills:
ACTIVE
Fireball: Could cook your foes or your dinner. Weak fire magic.
Fancy footwork: Use the wind to increase movement speed, +5 boost to agility, reduces time in between melee attacks.
PASSIVE
Analytic: Picks up foes attack patterns easier than most and has an easier time defending against strikes. +1 to def/spd
